However, Handheld has launched the latest device in their pantheon of Field Rugged tablets with a New 10.1″ Android tablet.
The new Handheld Algiz RT10 IP67 (MIL-STD-810G) fully rugged tablet boasts some impressive credentials whilst hitting a price point most other decent manufacturers fail to achieve.

dual SIM 5G (4G + 3G) for superfast connectivity. Using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 long-life processor. The Snapdragon X515 modem-RF system supports multiple 5G spectrums, frequencies and modes at incredible speeds. And with support for 2×2 Wi-Fi (dual antenna) and advanced features more users, than ever before, have access to widespread, robust connections—both at home and on the go. This platform is a true milestone, packed with groundbreaking 4-series achievements including triple ISP capture, AI-based echo cancellation, Qualcomm® Quick Charge 4+ Technology, and support for 120 fps displays. These 4-series firsts allow mass-market consumers to form real connections through gaming, live chatting, sharing, and more—at a level of quality never before seen in this tier.
The RT10 utilises a built-in u-blox NEO M8U chipset with the newest generation GNSS receiver for accurate positioning using GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou as well as SBAS (Satellite-based Augmentation system) is essential for applications where accuracy and integrity are critical. None more so than when people’s lives are at risk or times when results form part of a legal or commercial guarantee. Utilising 3 concurrent systems for reliable performance and Untethered Dead Reckoning (UDR). The built-in travel sensors help calculate position in less-optimal conditions. This model also provides an antenna port for external signal management in vehicles.
A bespoke-made RT10 Vehicle dock with VESA standard keeps the device secure and steady but also allows connectivity to GPS/WiFi SMA, and RS232 serial for legacy connectivity. Add in a couple of USB ports, LAN and HDMI and this dock can transform the tablet into a field device you can use anywhere.
All of this and at an RT10 Standard Retail price of just £1149 or£1349 with a built-in 2D Bar code reader.

It has also just been announced that Handheld Group has signed an agreement to be acquired by MilDef, a Swedish-based international supplier of tactical IT listed on Nasdaq SmallCap. MilDef has thru the transaction acquired 100% of the outstanding shares in Handheld Group AB.
The two companies see great opportunities in the combined efforts and deep customer relations that exist on both sides but not necessarily are overlapping. Handheld will continue to be a free-standing Group of companies under the MilDef ownership. The founders and majority owners of Handheld Group Jerker Hellström and Thomas Löfblad will remain with the company and will continue in an unchanged capacity.
With the acquisition of Handheld, MilDef continues along the path of growth and the deal results in a highly established international provider of rugged and ultra-rugged premium solutions for all types of mission-critical infrastructure.
The transaction broadens both companies’ portfolios of solutions and at the same time provides a significantly larger customer base. This will enable the joint group to deliver even greater value to its customers, and also strengthen its international footprint, including an expanded market presence in already established markets.
The combination of the resources and competencies of both companies provides a strong platform for further growth. Furthermore, there are strong similarities in corporate culture and values. Both organizations are highly focused on delivering value to customers in the form of high-quality solutions, while the corporate culture is one of inclusion, with a strong team spirit among employees.
